IBS Cincinnati Brings Holiday Cheer to Families Away From Home

OAK BROOK, IL, November 17, 2011 – The Cincinnati branch of IBS will again provide holiday support to the Cincinnati Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House serves as a “home away from home” for families whose children are undergoing medical treatments at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital or other area hospitals, regardless of their ability to pay.

IBS' annual Thanksgiving donation will provide the food for the annual Ronald McDonald House Thanksgiving Breakfast. The breakfast is prepared and served by the Ohio Laureate Epsilon Gamma chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, a service sorority. Sorority sisters donate their time to help bring the spirit of Thanksgiving to the families staying at the House. Funds not used for the breakfast are designated to help families pay for the cost of a room.

Additionally, in conjunction with its holiday get-together for staff and consultants, IBS will sponsor a holiday gift drive for the Ronald McDonald House guests. Staff and consultants are asked to donate a toy or a suitable gift for siblings or parents. The gifts are offered to residents during the annual “Ronald’s Workshop,” where parents have the opportunity to choose gifts for their children.

In 2010, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Cincinnati served over 1,200 families with an average length of stay of 23 days. Learn more about "Ronald's Workshop."
