When Align General Insurance Agency decided to build a state-of-the-art web portal for its independent insurance agents, they turned to Interactive Business Systems for their expertise in developing agent portals that fully integrate with back-end insurance systems.
Align General is a general insurance agency representing multiple insurance carriers. They wanted their independent insurance agents Align's customers' to be able to easily issue new policies through the web portal. The agents needed to be able to obtain quotes and rating information at the point of sale and be assured that the binding and issuance of policies would match the quote. Also, Align wanted the interface and functionality to be exactly the same for each insurance company they represent.
IBS provided a web interface to Align's Insuresoft Diamond policy administration system, as well as the integration to third-party sites. The secure portal provides real-time rating, quoting, issuing, policy inquiry, the ability to print policy documents and the ability to post payments. In addition, the portal has an XML interface to a common comparative rater to help eliminate extra data entry for agents.
Align General's president and CEO Kieran Sweeney believes the portal offers the best real-time tool for its producers and the best solution to its low overhead, online-only business model. It is a once-and-done process for producers, said Sweeney. What we have achieved is a point-of-sale to policy issuance process that is entirely paperless and peopleless. |
