Business Challenge
The client buys and services auto loans. Its Loan Origination application is the primary tool for assessing whether they should buy a given loan from a dealership and at what price. The web application allows auto dealerships to submit loans to the client for review.

Written in VB, ASP, and COM Objects, the client wanted to update the application using .NET (C# and ASP.NET, XML, Web Services). The software currently interfaces with a loan servicing application, a credit reporting system and their GAP insurance issuer's system.
New functionality would include the ability to interface with:
  • The National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) web service to get the correct automobile value
  • The insurance carrier's web service to reduce the dealers manual data entry
  • The dealerships management systems and comparative pricing tools to help reduce double entry into their web site.
Future requirements may include the ability to purchase bulk loans that are already being serviced. In addition, they may need to phase in the ability to do e-signatures or to have dealerships fax in applications paperwork automatically attached to the record. Employee attrition, lack of adequate .NET knowledge to architect the application and lack of time have resulted in internal project delays for the company. The company's need was immediate.

IBS Services
IBS provided the client with an Architecture Review and Application Development services. The Architecture Review gives the client the benefit of having a senior developer/architect review the proposed architecture for the application prior to its being rewritten.
