| Migration to .NET aligns with manufacturer's efforts to normalize applications to current technologies

Business Challenge
An automotive products manufacturer had an application developed to help manage formulas for its rubber mixing plants. The application was built on a PowerBuilder 7.x platform with an Oracle 8.0x back-end. Only one or two people at the manufacturing company were able to provide technical support. The formula application needed to be moved to an appropriate technology platform to allow for ease of ongoing support, maintenance and enhancement. Since the manufacturer was in the process of normalizing applications to current technologies that their group can support, the company decided to migrate its formula application to a .NET platform.
IBS Services
IBS managed the porting of the PowerBuilder application to the .NET platform. The majority of this project was completed using our offshore development center. IBS' Livonia, MI Remote Development Center handled the project management, and analysis and knowledge transfer. Technologies employed were primarily Microsoft tools and development languages and platforms.
