Database Administrator


Database Administrators (DBAs) have a broad range of responsibilities that include database design, installation, maintenance, backup and recovery, and security. The DBA works with and supports other DBAs, developers and ETL/BI specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Manage installation and configuration of database platforms
  • Maintain databases and monitor performance
  • Troubleshoot and correct problems
  • Design database backup and recovery processes
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in database administration
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Expertise in database architecture, design and performance tuning
  • Disaster recovery experience
  • Experience in leading projects and mentoring others
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Most Common Technologies: Microsoft SQL, Oracle or DB2
